Samsung Galaxy S4 Animated Photos

Samsung Galaxy S4 Animated Photos

So, since I’m a laid up cripple today, I decided to do a little playing around with my phone.   Turns out the S4 camera has a pretty cool mode called Animated Photo.

When you take a picture using this mode, you are prompted to mark the area which you want to retain animation, and the remainder of the image stays static.

When saved, the output is an animated GIF as seen above.  Turns out,…

Mike fell and he couldn’t get up

Mike fell and he couldn’t get up

I was walking out to work on my battery charger project and, as usual, was moving setting trivial when I felt a pop in my lower back.

I had to call my wife from my cell phone to come stare at me while I laid flat out on the garage floor for a few minutes.

Mortality sucks.

Arduino Code for IMS-1 Control

Arduino Code for IMS-1 Control

I thought I had posted this earlier, but turns out I didn’t.

Here’s the sample code I wrote to control motor speed and direction via a potentiometer connected to pin A0 on an Arduino.

const int leftMotorEn = 4; const int leftMotorLpwm = 5; const int leftMotorRpwm = 6; int rmSpeed; int lmSpeed; int aRead; int sendSpeed; void setup() { pinMode(leftMotorLpwm, OUTPUT); pinMode(leftMotorRpwm,…

Java Essential Training Cert

Java Essential Training Cert

I have lost track of how many CBT training classes I’ve taken.  It really bugs me that I have lost some of the details over time.  I’m going to try to capture the certs here as I track them down.  It will probably annoy some people who don’t care, but I need to create a repository to protect me from bad archival habits.

All griping aside, I completed this one today:

Java - 1 Dimensional Arrays

Java – 1 Dimensional Arrays

I still don’t like how my site is displaying code blocks, but I’m going to  publish this anyway in hopes that in inspires me to find a better plug in to handle this topic a little better.

Here is some sample code covering the 3 standard methods for implementing a 1 dimensional array in Java.  Let’s see how it comes out:

public static void main(String[] args) { //arrays - 3 ways to delay a simple…

Books – The Goal (Goldratt)

Here’s another book I finished reading today on the “Theory of Constraints.”  The story revolves around a manufacturing plant; however, the principles covered are applicable in a variety of business applications.
